Commit #8 Marcos Curry

Loyal readers of this young blog should know all about UTSA’s latest commit in Marcos Curry. A 5’11”, 212 lb. linebacker for Stony Point HS, Curry is a two-time all state selection and a three time starter for the accomplished Tiger program. A relentless tackler, Curry had over 130 tackles last season. When I first reported Curry’s offer, I predicted him to be used as a Rover safety and I still feel that way. After seeing converted safety-linebacker-rover Steven Kurfehs step into the role particularly well, I think Curry will be a great fit in the hybrid position. Through three games, Curry is already well on his way to a third all-state selection with 33 tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Pretty interesting that UTSA is already up to eight commitments, as it took the Roadrunners until December of 2011 to get up to that number for last year’s class. Coach Coker is making some serious headway in the recruiting game.
