UTSA 3 v Rice 13 Halftime

There are a ton of UTSA fans at the game. Although Rice is better than New Mexico State, they aren’t by much and the Runners are coming off a bye in which they got a lot healthier. This trip had the potential to launch UTSA into some kind of prominence.

Alas, the Rice football team has shown up even if their “fans” haven’t. They have moved the ball crisply while the Runners are looking like the week off took their edge. Despite this, Rice let UTSA off the hook by missing some open receivers and Kurfehs and company held the Owls to only 13 points.

The offense, on the other hand, managed a few nice drives in between bad ones. Those weren’t as fruitful, however. A missed field goal and some terrible drops by Bias and Okotcha have limited the offense that could have easily put up 17 points.

Also worth mentioning: Polite stepped in for Eric Soza after an ankle injury and availed himself well. So well that the lone points came on the drive he led.

Second half starts in like five minutes.
